Actos Bladder Cancer and Heart Failure

In the late 1990s Takeda Pharmaceuticals released a type II diabetes drug named Actos which some believe is a dangerous product. Actos has proved beneficial but there have been reported side affects. Many of people see the commercials for various drugs and then see the “fine print” at the bottom but sometimes this fine print becomes a reality. Sometimes companies fail to warn about possible side effects and long term health consequences.

Studies show that Actos may lead to bladder cancer and/or heart failure. Takes of Actos have reported problems such as bloody urine, pain when urinating, increase need to urinate and unexplained lower back pain.

Actos Lawsuit and Attorney

The general premises behind an Actos lawsuit is that the company failed to warn its consumers of the long term effects of this medication.  When a suit is filed the consumer will try and recover medical costs associated with the treatment as well as pain and suffering and possible wrongful death if the person died from bladder cancer or heart failure.

To date, more than 1,300 lawsuits have been filed in the United States Federal Court with thousands more in State Courts including South Carolina.
